Ingredients
1 can of chickpeas
500 g mushrooms
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
¼ teaspoon onion powder
2 tablespoons cake flour (or flour of choice)
½ cup panko breadcrumbs
1 egg
Instructions
- Drain, rinse and mash the chickpeas either by hand or in a food processor, depending on the desired burger texture.
- Stir in the mushrooms and form the patties. Let the patties rest for 30 minutes in a fridge.
- Place the flour, egg and breadcrumbs in three separate bowls.
- Start coating the patties in flour, followed by the egg mixture.
- Cover the patties with the breadcrumbs and pan-fry them, flipping halfway through cooking. Do the same on the other side.
- Serve on a bun with lettuce, tomato and onion.
